GOAL: 1000 CLEATS REACHED!
We started a campaign drive to collect 1,000 pairs of cleats for underprivileged kids in Northern India. The Youth Football Club in Rurka Kalan, Punjab (See below) is an amazing organization that does BIG things with little resources.
Thanks to the generous people of Ottawa we have collected well over 1000 pairs of cleats!
With Parmar Sports Training Inc's. vast outreach in the Eastern Ontario Region, Sanjeev wanted to give back to the children in need, so he started a not for profit charity called Galaktic 3v3 Soccer Fest. Galaktic 3V3SoccerFest is a charity event created so kids can enjoy the speed and thrill of small sided games while raising money to benefit kids in need. All net proceeds go to a charity that has been created to support kids in our community. In our inaugural festival on May 15, 2010, we attracted 24 teams (12 girls / 12 boys) who helped raise $5000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa Scholarship Program so a qualified boy and girl can attend post secondary school and realize their dreams.
In order to help develop the grassroots game of soccer in Canada we have established the Parmar Coaching Foundation which helps give back to the local community clubs in Eastern Ontario. Sanjeev Parmar will run coaching clinics for local clubs with the agreement that the club will keep the funds ($125/hour) to provide assistance to underprivileged children who want to participate in development programs throughout the year. To have Sanjeev run a session for the club, please send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Parmar Sports Training Inc. has developed a great relationship with Youth Football Club Rurka Kalan in Punjab, India and Birtil Sinclair Soccer Academy in Trinidad and Tobago since 2008.
Sanjeev travels to India at least once a year to work with YFC and was involved in a recent project in September 2010. He helped develop an instructional DVD in Punjabi which covered 17 session plans for coaches coaching 12 - 15 year old players.
In association with the Australian Sports Commission and the Sports Department of Punjab, India, Gurmangal Das, president of Youth Football Club Rurka Kalan invited Sanjeev Parmar to Punjab, India to run a six day Grassroots Coaches Training Program. The program was organized from December 15 - 20 at the YFC academy in Rurkakalan, India. The program attracted 25 coaches from around various villages and cities in the state of Punjab. Coaches came from with different personal coaching backgrounds with the intention of learning and growing as coaches.
We are continuously collecting soccer cleats and would love to collect them from you. The equipment will be dispersed to under privileged children participating in the YFC satellite projects in the neighboring communities.
As of September 25, 2011, Parmar Sports Training has become the official sponsor of Allona Tola Football Club which is a small village in Punjab. We will cover the cost of daily training for the kids, coaching fees, travel costs for games, outfits for the players and equipment costs.
